Our love story begins not as a love story at all, but as a casual meeting amongst friends for a birthday celebration. We were celebrating our late mutual friend, Ilyasha's birthday with a small get together at a Greek restaurant we frequented for 2-1 sangrias. We didn't know back then, on that warm day in March of 2019, but that tie to Ilyasha would later bring us closer together and bond us for a lifetime. The love we have for one another started with a strong foundation of a special friendship. Which now sets the stage for a lasting love that will be fruitful and continue to blossom with each new memory.
The proposal, so we've been told, is one straight out of a fairy tale. What started off as a surprise trip to Toronto, Canada, ended up actually being a surprise engagement trip to Niagara Falls. Every detail was perfectly planned; From staying at the bucket list hotel with views of Niagara Falls from both the American and Canadian sides, to full glam in the hotel suite, a decoy ring presented before a decoy photoshoot in a botanical garden with snow so fresh we left the first footprints. All of this complete with photography and videography to capture the day, huge rose bouquets being secretly delivered by what later would be revealed as future bridesmaids who had flown to Canada to assist with the proposal and witness it first hand. The set up was in a gorgeous park overlooking the Falls with rose petals in the snow and a floral arrangement for the books. If all of that wasn't enough, a second photography and videography team was onsite at the park to capture all the magic. This is definitely the stuff from Disney movies and the Hallmark channel, except it was all too real and happened on a cold day in March exactly 1 year, 1 month and 10 days after we began officially dating.
